Masterwork™ Retro TVs
The renown Stellar Masterwork line of Vintage Colorsets, seen on location at NBC News Studios New York, Ghosthunter Z. Bagans’s Haunted Museum in Las Vegas, Bass Pro Shops at the Talladega Speedway, and other locations are all tailor rebuilt and modernized from the ground up.
What is a Stellar Masterwork Series Retro Color TV?
1950s & 60s Vintage Retro Television Sets- authentic period cabinets with updated internals. These are not mass-produced sets, they are individual, one-off, and each entirely unique.
While turned off, the set looks just as it did in on the showroom floor. We scour the country to find good original sets in mint or as near mint condition as possible; as mid-century modern aficionados, we favor authenticity and not to restore when not necessary.
Touch the front panel power button, or flick on the remote control; it’s then easy to tell that this is not an ordinary vintage black-and-white TV. It’s a Stellar Masterwork. The aesthetics are completely seamless. Original lines, original grille cloth and knobs. Factory finish. The picture fits in just as it should with no gaps. Best of all, these TVs are entirely modern. Masterwork is the marque of excellence in custom retro televisions, and the best option to compliment high-end mid-century modern, atomic, 50s and 60s era decor.
What goes into a Masterwork Series Colorset?
Original electronics are completely replaced, and all chassis and components come with an industry standard 1 year warranty. Our aim is to make sets seamless, and not “something close.” As every set is different, so does every conversion require a new and unique approach toward engineering in order to make it just right.
Original Masterwork Series sets employ color CRTs in all cabinets capable of accommodating them.
The new Masterwork II series sets employ LCD screens for smaller cabinets such as slimlines, portables, and Predictas where use of a CRT is not possible. Every attempt is made to approximate the original aesthetic of the set including the use of custom masks and faceplates in place of the original B&W CRTs.

Various Sets
Custom built sets for David Copperfield’s private museum of Magic in Las Vegas. Each set was chosen to stand in independent exhibits playing back video highlighting both the careers and of David’s own personal collection of effects and stage used magical paraphernalia of many well known Magicians of the 20th century– including The Great Cardini, Richiardi Jr, Channing Pollock, and others. Many of these were full restoration and conversions, including original Masterwork series CRT based conversions and Masterwork II series LCD conversions. Each of the sets (12 total, others not pictured) we designed with special rigging to make each appear to levitate when combined with special lighting inside the museum. Custom configured with HDMI and a USB media center. Thanks David!
